It Will Be An Honour to Be Punched By Rajni Sir': Akshay Kumar

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is in complete awe of Southern superstar Rajnikanth. In fact, the actor grew up on a healthy dose of Thalaiva’s action sequences, which incidentally also inspired him a great deal in his own career as an action hero. Akshay considers it an honour to challenge the god of South Indian cinema in the Robot sequel.
Admitting that this opportunity to work with Thalaiva is a dream come true Akki says, "These things don't come to you even in a dream. He's a wonderful actor and even more, a wonderful human being. It will be an honour to be punched by Rajini sir. It's going be a different world for me -- the graphics, the action and the adulation that he commands."
Apparently, the role was originally meant for Hollywood Terminator, Arnold Schwarzenegger as reported in Mumbai Mirror, but the actor clarifies, "I have no idea, I just know that Shankar (director) and some of the others called me and told me they had a film for me," he shrugs.
Akshay will also soon be seen onscreen with his Airlift, a story about the heroic rescue mission by the Indian Government in Kuwait. The prolific actor has a line-up of releases this year including Houseful 3, the "relief film" and "fun franchise". However, he's clueless about Dhadkan 2 and Hera Pheri 3 but Namaste England will definitely roll this year and so will Rustom, in which he plays a naval officer and which is set for the Independence Day weekend release.
The actor is also exceedingly proud of his wife, who is now a published author, he says "It's great the way she made a name for herself, first as an actress, then a designer, a columnist and now an author. She has a wonderful sense of humour, which is very different from mine, and that is the best part about our household. It's like East meets West."
Akki is also very modest in his approach towards his own life, in fact when asked if he wanted to write his own biography, he replied, "No, I know my limitations. There are bigger legends to write about, I'm still a struggler."  more info
