As the actor prepares for the promotions of his filmDangal, a source revealed to Bollywood Life, "Aamir will play Rakesh Sharma in his next film. He is all set to move from playing a pehalwan to now going out to the space."
India's first man in space, cosmonaut Rakesh Sharma was an Indian Air Force pilot who became a cosmonaut, also the first Indian to be a part of space programme by India’s ISRO and Russia’s Soviet Intercosmos. During a television conference from space with Moscow officials and Indira Gandhi, the then Indian Prime Minister, Sharma had won the hearts of his countrymen by giving a patriotic response to Indira Gandhi’s question. When Sharma was asked how India looked from the space, Sharma had responded and said, “Saare Jahan Se Achcha” in response.
